When to use Microsoft SQL Server over Microsoft Access

Over the period of time, two important tools that have taken the world by storm and they are Microsoft SQL server and Microsoft access. Though the latter has largely evolved over the last couple of years but corporates are reducing its use for several good reasons and paying due heed to Microsoft SQL server. Some of the reasons why IT professionals want to escape from the use of Microsoft access are quite valid. The use of Access database in areas where high security of information is required has been negligible. Areas as in education industry, defense, hospitals where lot of information have to be stored pertaining to students, army officials and patients and security of the data is to be maintained, Microsoft access fails to comply with the need. Use of Microsoft Access database to store information can lead to data tracing by outsiders for wrong and illegal use.

But Microsoft server is better and augmented platform which can be used for several good reasons:-

·         Microsoft SQL server can be set to automatic back up

·         It can do incremental back-ups which implies it can do back-ups during day than just at night

·   Microsoft SQL Server can handle terabytes of data where as in Microsoft Access even 1 gigabyte is questionable.

·        Microsoft allows to do some of the system’s processes on the server board via stored procedures and data transformation services where as Microsoft Access requires the client to do the needful processing.

There are numerous other reasons why corporates wish to use Microsoft SQL server. In fact IT companies are looking for professionals who can deftly make use of the technology. SQL requires understanding of technical subject to skillfully implement client’s requirements and generate quality results.

Those who wish to spruce up their skills in SQL server or desire to learn the execution, Microsoft training and certification course would be perfect thing to enroll for.

There are several institutes who claim to impart professional education to students, but make sure that you get in touch with Microsoft training center or institutes which are Microsoft certified. Ideally these institutes have a professional code of conduct and arranges for different theoretical and practical classes, covering each and every topic in detail. The sessions are presided by industry experts who are Microsoft certified professionals having huge industry experience. Once the course is completed candidates have to appear for the test and a Microsoft certification is issues to those qualifying the exam. The certification helps in building an edge over others, providing better working opportunities and exposure to the candidates across the globe.
